CHALLENGE
A private equity-backed industrial operator with 14 facilities across the Midwest had no visibility into facility-level energy consumption. Energy costs were running at approximately 12% of revenue well above the industry benchmark. The firm was preparing for a sale process and wanted to improve EBITDA before going to market.
SOLUTION
Lumen conducted a portfolio-wide energy audit across all 14 sites within 60 days. LumenSmart™ monitoring was deployed at the six highest-consumption facilities. Mechanical optimization was implemented at four sites with compressed air system inefficiencies. LED conversion was completed at all facilities. Electricity procurement renegotiation reduced the blended rate across the portfolio.

SOLUTION
Lumen UK conducted a full building energy audit and identified three primary opportunity areas: HVAC controls optimization, lighting upgrades to smart LED, and a renegotiated energy supply contract. LumenSmart™ was installed to provide real-time baseline data and ongoing monitoring.

Lumen audited the top 10 highest-cost properties and implemented LED conversion in all common areas, parking structures, and corridors. LumenSmart™ monitoring was installed in shared mechanical rooms. HVAC optimization was applied to buildings with centralized systems.
